Location: Ricky Schaede Art Studio, 5 First Street Unit 3A, Orangeville Ontario L9W 1E1

Students Ages 12-18! This class is for students with an aptitude and love for art who want a space to bring their own unique ideas to life with 1 on 1 help from Ricky.  Students may choose to explore drawing, painting, or sculpting in whatever media they wish, and have the freedom to choose their own style and subject matter.  The goal is to help cultivate students' unique creative identities while helping them to build the skills to take their work to the next level.  Ricky will encourage students to bring their ideas to life bigger, better and bolder than ever before, exploring new territories and mediums and taking creative risks in their art practice,.  This class is also enriching socially as the young artists find inspiration and camaraderie with their fellow classmates.

Suggested Materials List:

Required materials for students will vary depending on the media students choose to explore in this session.  For painting and sculpting projects, all or most materials will be provided.  It is recommended that every student should have their own basic drawing kit to bring to class including the following items, but we also have a full stocked studio in case they need anything else.  The suggested basic drawing kit is as follows:

A Sketchbook 8x10 or 9x12, the higher quality paper the better.
Sketching pencil set (most pencil sets will give a good range like 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, but they'll be fine as long as they have at least an HB and a 6B)
Kneadable Eraser
Regular Rubber Eraser
Pencil Sharpener
Paper Blending Stump
Fine Black Inking Pen 0.5 (permanent)(Tombow is the preferred brand but Staedtler pigment liner, Pigma Micron, Write-4-All are all good brands too, but any permanent black pen with a fine tip will be great! Students can also get a set of different sizes of inking pens if they want to have more options)
A small set of coloured pencils (or a big set, the more colours the better)

Optional Items: (these items aren’t required but if students want to have a broader range of possibilities in their drawings, they can add these items to their kit)

Water Based Brush Tip Markers
Tombow Mono Zero Fine Point Eraser
Electric Eraser
Permanent Black Inking Pens in a variety of tip sizes.

If students have any other drawing or art supplies they want to bring with them to incorporate in their work that is awesome and they can bring whatever else they would like!

In this program, students work independently on their own self-directed projects with 1 on 1 help from Ricky.  Students are free to follow their own creative voice and create the artwork that they love to make!  Students are allowed to draw, paint with watercolours or acylics, or sculpt.  If you are new to the program, please let your young artist know so they can think about what type of project they might want to start with.  Ricky will check in with them at the start of class and help them to land on their idea and get started on their first artwork!  Most returning students are already underway on projects and will pick up where they left off in the previous session.  To see some examples of student work from this program for inspiration, check out these videos on the studio instagram -->
