Instructor: Ricky Schaede

In this 7-week series, students will learn in-depth about portrait drawing from a reference with guidance from artist instructor Ricky Schaede.  In the first class we will learn the Loomis method for drawing heads, basic facial proportions, and we will draw a variety of heads and faces in different poses and pisitions.  For the next 3-4 classes, we will all draw a portrait from the same reference, taking special care to learn how to draw each facial feature, learn about the structure and planes of the face, and how to capture accurate proportions.  We will learn shading techniques for facial features, skin tone, hair, and more.  In the last 2-3 classes, students will each choose their own portrait reference and create their own individual portrait using the skills and knowledge they have gained.
